May 2011 MARINE ENGINEER OFFICERS LICENSURE EXAMINATIONS

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 781 out of 1,388 passed the various grades of the written phase of the MARINE ENGINEER OFFICERS LICENSURE EXAMINATIONSgiven by the Board for Marine Engineer Officers in Manila this May 2011 .

The members of the Board for Marine Engineer Officers are Engr. Miguel O. Marasigan, Officer-in-Charge; Engr. Victoriano A. Alojado, Engr. Ferdinand R. Pascua and Engr. Eldefonso G. Uba , Members.

The results were released after four (4) working days from the last day of examinations.

Registration for the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Cards for those who are exempted in the practical assessment will start on Monday, May 30, 2011 until June 10, 2011 in the Central Office and on Monday, May 30, 2011 until June 6, 2011 in the Regional Offices.

In addition, 460 applicants were approved for upgrading as Chief Marine Engineer Officers as per Board Res. No. 10 dated Jan. 24, 2011, Board Res. Nos. 25 & 26 dated Feb. 16, 2011, Board Res. No. 33 dated Feb. 25, 2011, Board Res. No. 39 dated Mar. 10, 2011, Board Res. No. 47 dated Mar. 23, 2011, Board Res. Nos. 59 & 60 dated Apr. 14, 2011, Board Res. No. 64 dated Apr. 25, 2011 and Board Res. No. 79 dated May 16, 2011 Series of 2011.

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional and those who opted to submit ERS Assessment Certificates will be held before the Board on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel, One Rizal Park, Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

Certificate of Competency and Certificate of Endorsement shall be distributed during the oathtaking ceremony to the Chief Engineers and Second Engineers who successfully passed the board examinations and completed the required STCW 95 compulsory training and sea service. They shall proceed to MEOD and STCW section for registration and validation as soon as possible in order to expedite the processing of the above-mentioned certificates.

The performance of schools in the May 2011 Marine Engineer Officers Licensure Examinations in alphabetical order as per R.A. 8981 otherwise known as PRC Modernization Act of 2000 Section 7(m) “To monitor the performance of schools in licensure examinations and publish the results thereof in a newspaper of national circulation” is as follows: (Any discrepancy in the report is not intentional on the part of the Commission, but rather due to miscoding of school codes by the examinees themselves.
